U.S. 56 Traffic Corridor Study

In 2009 SMH Consultants completed a traffic corridor study of the U.S. 56 bypass between 14th Avenue and Road 112 in Dodge City, Kansas. This study, requested by the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT), measured the traffic impacts of a 300-acre business park planned adjacent to U.S. 56. As part of the study SMH worked closely with KDOT to determine the most reasonable location for the business park entrance off of the by-pass.  With the results of the study, the City of Dodge is now better equipped to insure that as development of the business park continues access control and location along U.S. 56 is not compromised.
