SMH engaged with the Main Street Dodge City organization to develop a revitalization concept for Eisenhower Park in the historic district, aiming to create a fundraising tool for park improvements. After collaborating with Main Street and the City to finalize a plan that balanced functionality, aesthetics, and cost-efficiency, SMH was rehired in 2018 to produce construction documents for the implementation. A key focus was resolving the park’s drainage issues, working closely with the City to devise a solution that benefited both the park and neighboring properties. The redesign introduced shade sails, modern benches, an artificial turf lawn, new landscape beds with electrical pedestals, an ADA ramp to the performance shelter, and decorative colored concrete paving, transforming the Park into a hub for events like Movies in the Park and the Main Street Festival. We are proud to have contributed to the revitalization of Eisenhower Park, helping to bring renewed energy to both the Park and the broader downtown Dodge City community.
