One of the most difficult and visually appealing projects at SMH is Norterre, a 17-acre, multi-generational health, wellness, and residential neighborhood located in Liberty, Missouri. This community serves residents at all stages of life, such as families with young children, adults, and seniors who all interact to create a dynamic and interactive neighborhood.
SMH provided civil services for the first phase, which included three different buildings for this community:
Healthy Living Center: 64,000 square foot center with three varieties of pools, a bistro, yoga rooms, spin and aerobics classes
Short-Term Stay (Skilled Nursing): 52,000 square foot, four-story building constructed of a metal stud wall panel system. This building was completed in 12 months and contains 60 resident rooms, a salon, and physical therapy rooms.
Assisted Living: 52,000 square foot, 60-unit, three-story building primarily constructed from prefabricated modular units built and shipped from South Dakota
SMH’s services included the design of Freedom Way along with the associated sanitary sewer and waterline extensions. SMH also provided the design for the private underground utilities, grading, and stormwater improvements by utilizing over 66,000 cu. Ft. of underground detention.
SMH is a proud member of the project team that brought this innovative living concept to the Liberty, Missouri area.
