Amanda Arnold

In 2009 SMH Consultants was contracted by Anderson Knight Architects to provide civil site design for expansion of the Amanda Arnold Elementary School in Manhattan.  The project that generally created more classroom space and additional outdoor play areas also involved the relocation of sanitary sewer appurtenances, the relocation of play ground equipment, drainage design for courtyard area, and grading for a multi tiered outdoor captain’s deck that included ADA ramps and stairs.   It was also necessary for SMH Consultants to provide the necessary services in an expeditious manner to meet strict deadlines established by the school district.  This work was all completed on time and within budget allowing the school district to utilize the new spaces during the following school year.
