Colmery O’Neil VA Medical Center

In 2011 Burns and McDonnell contracted with SMH Consultants to perform a site survey of the Colmery O’Neil VA Medical Center in Topeka, Kansas necessary for expansion of the medical center.  Survey work included boundary information, topographical information, and utilities.  As part of the project it was necessary to location many utilities that are privately owned by the medical center.  Working closely with staff at the medical center and reviewing 30 year old construction plans SMH was able to accurately gather and portray the necessary information on plan sheets.  This allowed the design team to propose improvements in locations that did not require the costly relocation of utilities.
